Hi there, Max here! I am an NYC-based creative discovering the intersection of design, technology, psychology, and business through creative problem solving and strategy. Prior to becoming a designer, I graduated from Miami University with a B.S. in Information Systems in the Farmer School of Business, as well as a B.A. in Spanish.
After graduating, I was trying to figure out what direction to take and what career to pursue. I had explored and researched other paths forward, but nothing ever felt right or like something I would want to be pursuing and working in for the next many years; that is, until I found out about UX Design.
While I knew that I wanted to use my business degree in some capacity, I also wanted to do something a bit more creative, as well. When I first discovered the field of UX Design, I quickly got the feeling that it would be a perfect fit for me (and I've been right so far 😉). This career is a way for me to mix experience and interests, combining them into one path forward with work that I enjoy doing, while also being able to solve problems, help people, and make the digital landscape a better place.
Even though I am new to the UX field, I believe that as a junior designer I can bring a lasting passion for design and a drive to learn and excel. Taking my analytical education and mixing that with my creative mind, I get to bridge my love of technology with my passion for art and design, while mixing in psychology and business principles with everything.
Having always been a curious person with unique ways of thinking, I am always wondering about how and why people make the decisions they do, and asking questions about what I don't understand. I find it exciting to design functional, thoughtful solutions that better serve users, and it has led me to explore, investigate, and learn what I don’t know so that I can make the best possible decisions and designs.
There is so much knowledge when it comes to UX Design, so I believe that continuous learning is the key to success here; and the industry is always rapidly changing, too. With this, I'm always striving to learn more about and further immerse myself in this industry, while being on the lookout for fresh challenges to keep me motivated and engaged.
